High-Impact Practices (HIPs) are evidence based educational strategies. When done well, High-Impact Practices (HIPs) improve student learning which in turn tends to increase persistence, retention, and goal attainment.

Â鶹ӰÊÓ supports the integration of High-Impact Practices (HIPs) across all academic programs. These efforts are supported in part through the Title III Grant Pathways to the Future.

Resources

- This is a resource hosted on our Library Learning Commons webpage which has extensive information and examples of HIPs.

Faculty Forums – Faculty led discussion groups focused on improving teaching and incorporating best practice related to HIPs. These groups meet periodically throughout the semester.

OneBook

Â鶹ӰÊÓ's OneBook program exists to foster community around a college wide reading experience. Each academic year a new book is chosen with the help of faculty, students, and staff, and events throughout the year include speakers, essay contests, book club discussions, art pieces, and more. Past selections have included The Things They Carried, A Walk in the Woods, I Am Malala, The Hate U Give, and more.

The 2022-2023 OneBook selection is The Good Ancestor  by Roman Kznaric.
